Transforming Rooftop Spaces: The Art of Mural Design in Hove

So pleased to have completed my loftiest mural yet for my lovely friends Sarah and Lawrence of Capsule Records. High above the rooftops of central Hove, with views to the sea one way and the green of the South Downs the other, this penthouse terrace is really rather spectacular.

The design was inspired by the mountains and the colours were influenced by the graphic floor tiles and blue kitchen units of the kitchen/living room which opens onto the terrace.

I painted this during the heatwave of 2025 using littlegreenepaint colours mixed expertly by Brewers in Hove.

What's brilliant about creating murals like this, is that it sometimes connected to my work as a Fine Artist. This summer I visited the mountains of Andalucia - the Sierras de las Nieves and was deeply affected by the shapes and colours I painted and sketched on this trip.
